A Milan apartment owned by a young couple of collectors has been redesigned by Nori Studio, creating a contemporary interior designed to accommodate the owners’ art collection while maximising the available living space.
Located in a classic gallery building in central Milan, the apartment underwent a complete reconfiguration to create a more open living area, a second guest bathroom and a master bedroom with en suite.
The interior scheme is defined by a linear, graphic aesthetic, with a predominantly dark palette contrasted against light natural wood flooring. The existing partition between the living room and kitchen was retained and emphasised with two monolithic black steel portals, creating a visual connection and circular flow between the spaces.
Custom-made furniture has been used throughout, combining storage and practical functions with the overall design of the apartment.
The entrance opens directly into the main living area, with a relaxation zone positioned alongside the dining area and minimalist kitchen. A glass swing door provides access to the corridor and the more private areas of the home.
The guest bathroom takes a more dramatic approach, with dark petrol blue walls, a mirrored steel ceiling and graphic tiles creating a distinctive contrast to the neutral palette used elsewhere in the apartment.
Ritmonio’s Diametro35 taps in Black finish have been specified for the bathroom, reinforcing the monochromatic elements of the scheme. The minimalist form and dark finish provide a strong visual contrast against the lighter furnishings and surfaces, while complementing the black detailing used elsewhere in the apartment.
The master bedroom and en suite follow the same architectural language but adopt a calmer aesthetic, with clean lines, neutral colours and minimal detailing creating a more understated and private environment.
