A penthouse apartment set within an elegant early 20th-century Art Nouveau building in the historic centre of Reggio Emilia has been transformed into a sophisticated contemporary home by LAB DESIGN, led by Architect Nicola Pedron.

The renovation reinterprets the property’s historic character through a minimalist and timeless design language, with a focus on enhancing natural light, spatial flow and everyday functionality. A refined palette of dark oak flooring, gold-backed cork wallpaper, natural wood and satin-finish metals creates a warm and cohesive aesthetic throughout, while bespoke furniture and discreet indirect lighting reinforce the apartment’s calm, understated elegance.

At the centre of the home is an expansive open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, defined by exposed white beams and large windows overlooking the city rooftops. The master suite adopts a more intimate atmosphere, featuring a suspended bed and open walk-in wardrobe set against a richly textured backdrop.

The bathrooms were conceived as serene wellness spaces, combining natural stone, brushed resin and bespoke detailing to create a sophisticated spa-like feel. Here, solutions from Ritmonio play a key role in completing the scheme.

Selected throughout the project, the Diametro35 Inox collection in stainless steel complements the apartment’s contemporary material palette with its pure lines and understated aesthetic. Combining refined design with durability, hygiene and ergonomic functionality, the collection integrates seamlessly into the architecture, adding a subtle industrial edge while maintaining the project’s overall warmth and elegance.
