Retromix is a comprehensive range of porcelain wall tiles which finds inspiration in the geometric shapes of traditional global patterns. It conveys a sense of being handmade, while the designs are brought up to date with modern reinterpretation, making them highly aspirational for use in modern spaces. Developed as a system, the new tiles coordinate perfectly with other VitrA collections. This enables the creation of individual designs, especially for the leisure and hospitality market.
The tiles are available in 15 x 15 and 10 x 10 square format, offering ease of application and a wide range of options to maximise design creativity. In addition to geometrics in B&W, Warm Grey and Cold Grey, the range features signature colours of Lava Red, Emerald Green, Sapphire Blue and Amber Yellow all in deep luscious gloss.
Retromix is perfect for bathrooms, internal home flooring and kitchen tiling or splashbacks.
This is a sector for which VitrA Tiles has a constantly expanding product offering, with the launch of ranges which offer product quality, design inspiration and rapid UK delivery which the contract market needs.
VitrA also unveiled its latest designer collaborations, to include the new Equal collection by Claudio Bellini and extensions to its popular ranges by Terri Pecora.
This year’s Sleep + Eat theme of Social FlexAbility perfectly aligns with Flair’s continually expanding product ranges. At this year’s event, Flair presented several solutions that offer a host of meaningful design innovations for the hospitality industry. These included the newly launched ETO collection and the multi award-winning ORO shower door range.
A warm welcome to ETO…
ETO (pictured below) is the latest shower door concept launched by Flair in Summer 2019. Designed with purpose, the robust construction of the ETO collection is coupled with clever functional features that ensure long-lasting high performance. The uniquely crafted handle is beautifully precise and features a cleverly integrated towel hook. The sleek chrome profiles and countersunk interior hinges complement the ETO handle design, creating an elegantly contemporary aesthetic.

ORO Collection – Carefully Considered Design Details
With its minimalist aesthetic, the frameless ORO collection (pictured Top) is a union of design innovation and functional perfection. Its elegant hand-crafted handle is formed to feel seductive in hand and is truly one of a kind and distinctly individual.
Each ORO enclosure is created from 8mm toughened glass with hydrophobic coating, which resists against the build-up of lime scale and grime. The two metre glass panels are secured with minimal yet robust chrome wall extrusions that are designed to recede and accentuate the gracefully tall glass structure.
The flush-mounted door hinges on the inside of the shower allow users to easily wipe clean the glass without obstruction. All mechanical detailing is cleverly concealed to reduce visual clutter and add to the minimalist aesthetic.
ORO Ultra Frameless Hinge and Inline door
Setting the standard in frameless design, the ORO Ultra Frameless series is the newest addition to the ORO range and radiates style and contemporary elegance. A generously proportioned shower enclosure, this modular design is ideal for larger showering spaces. With durability in mind, the frameless corner side panel is supported by a minimalist chrome stabilising bar.

Terri Pecora’s award-winning Plural Collection was on display at Sleep + Eat 2019. The new range which includes free-standing bathroom furniture, WCs and bidets, has been extended with a selection of urinals.
This innovative range reimagines the bathroom as a living space, by using smooth, rounded edges and solid woods to emulate furniture usually found in other rooms of the home. The Sleep & Eat set featured a number of Plural washbasins including a monoblock basin and countertop bowls, as well as new wall-hung urinals.
Love Tiles Metallic is a collection of enamelled stoneware flooring tiles and monoporous white paste wall tile lining, inspired by crude steels and metals, with an aura of modernity and urban irreverence.
With a strong personality and unique realism, the chromatic effects resemble the coloured oxide layers obtained through exposure to corrosive agents, depending on the type of metal.
Metallic supports three wall lining tile formats – 45×120, 35×100, 35×70 – and one flooring tile format 59.2×59.2. They are available in the 45 x 120 formats – designed to further emphasize the graphic element.
The diversification of chromatic tones – Platinum, Steel, Iron, Rust, Corten and Carbon – provides an unmatchable range.
The brand name Love Tiles was created in May 2008, replacing the brand name Novagres. This recent project, associated to a new concept of emotional marketing, aimed at following a communication and marketing policy started two years before. The challenge was to bond people, through affections, to a way of being and feeling each space within their homes, created by elegant, exclusive and unrepeatable atmospheres.
In 1999, following a set of environmental protection requirements and policies, along with the continuous search for quality, the Quality Management System NP EN ISO 9001 Model for the quality of planning and development, production, installation and servicing – was implemented and the company was certified on September 26, 2001.
The last few years has seen a significant rise in the installations of wetrooms, they are now very much a ‘must have’ for most homes. Bespoke custom solutions are readily available with Aqata, enabling wetroom style showering areas to be incorporated into even small and seemingly awkward spaces, such as under sloping ceilings.
Wetrooms are particularly beneficial for multi-generational families living under the same roof. Simple features such as low-level shower trays, wider frameless shower screen access and wider doorways, for example, improve accessibility without compromising on striking bathroom design.
Our low-level shower trays can be installed flush to the floor providing an unobtrusive, seamless look with no awkward step up into the shower.
Creating a wetroom style showering areas has never been easier you can incorporate clever design elements such as using a frameless screen or enclosure and shower trays are so slimline (Aqata’s are 35mm) they are easily installed, dispatch the water quickly and efficiently and look great. Tanking has come a long way in the past few years and needs to be installed by specialists to ensure a trouble-free result.
The Kinemagic Serenity Plus is a high quality, all-in-one shower cubicle that has been designed to fit in exactly the same space as a standard bath and can be installed with the minimum fuss and hassle.
It is particularly suitable for less mobile or older customers thanks to the innovative magnetic handset holder that ‘sticks’ to any part of the shower rail making it easier to handle for people with a weak grip. An integrated horizontal safety bar provides support along the middle section of the cubicle to provide extra security and peace of mind for those who need to hold on whilst moving along the shower. An additional durable grab bar is also placed at the entry of the cubicle on either the left or right-hand panel (depending on installation) to help the customer access the cubicle with ease. Further safety features include an integrated cool-touch thermostatic shower control to eliminate scalding if the user touches it by accident and a comfortable fold-down seat that takes up to 150kg.
Access into the cubicle is via a low entry shower tray that is just 30mm in height and has anti-slip flooring for the ultimate, safe showering experience. The tray has unique, adjustable feet for unbreachable and uneven floors to ensure a flat and even installation – something very important to those who are slightly shaky on their feet.
Customers love the Kinemagic because it’s easy to clean and maintain. With sleek glass internal panels, rather than tiles and grout, and Cristal Plus coating – a permanent, anti-limescale coating that minimises the build-up of calcium deposits and dirt on glass – the need to clean is reduced. The treatment encourages water to run off the glass without leaving streaks or water marks. Another small, but relevant feature is the sleek, smooth shower hose. It doesn’t collect dirt and grime like coiled hoses and can be washed in no time.
The quality of the unit is second to none and it is a sleek and stylish shower solution for any bathroom. After all, why should anyone compromise when it comes to their personal bathroom space?
The new Equal collection by Claudio Bellini makes use of geometric shapes and monochrome hues. Using clean, minimal borders and industrial, metallic accents, Bellini’s designs emulate the structures found in modernist architecture. Framing many pieces in the range, the sleek metal rails bring an elegant quality and create connections between the furniture using linear shapes.

One example is Fitzroy of London – they work closely with world-leading interior designers, developers and hoteliers, creating distinctive, yet elegant bathroom spaces. Bradley Culmer, Director, Fitzroy of London explains “It’s important for designers to advocate the necessity of an equally luxurious experience for every single visitor to a restaurant, bar or hotel – regardless of any additional requirements. Fittings and fixtures should combine quality, designs and functionality to provide a desirable retreat for customers of all abilities.”
Incorporating inclusive design into multi-generational households is also easily achieved by fitting a shower-toilet, level-access wetroom or even easy additions such as grab bars in the shower. As Jayne Barnes from AQATAtells us “Wetrooms are particularly beneficial for multi-generational families living under the same roof. Simple features such as low-level shower trays, wider frameless shower screen access and wider doorways, for example, improve accessibility without compromising on striking bathroom design.”
In this issue, we take a look at award-winning design, clever technology and simple solutions to complete your inclusive project, whether for the home or for a commercial setting.
