New Duravit Flush Fitting Shower Tray Collection
The latest collection of Duravit flush fitting shower trays were created in collaboration with renowned architect Prof. Frank Huster. They provide a minimal and seamless look to the shower area and also offer the perfect solution for renovation and refurbishment projects. A shallow depth of just 50mm accommodates the extremely low installation height often found in older buildings, the clever drainage system ensures simple and straightforward installation and, what is more, the tray can be fitted at the final stage of the refurbishment, thereby minimising any risk of damage. The design of the new Duravit flush fitting shower tray is strictly linear, consisting of a series of right angles to not only ensure a level, seamless connection with the tiled floor but also to enable the tray to be fitted neatly with the tiling joints. There are 14 models in sizes ranging from 800x800mm to 1600x900mm all available with a transparent AntiSlip coating which is compliant with code DIN51097 for enhanced safety whilst showering. In addition, the outlet cover is very flat and unobtrusive, and the outlet system has a practical integrated hair filter. The tray has a 2% incline so that the water runs off at a rate of 0.7 litres/second. This means that unlike tiled models, the shower is not only easier to clean, but also more hygienic.
These ultra low profile shower trays have been fitted with a new drainage system, and installation requires just a few simple steps. First of all, the plumber attaches a frame to determine the position of the shower tray. Then, using a template that is supplied by Duravit, he drills the core hole and chisels open a slit in the floor to the outlet pipe. The depth of the drill hole is calculated according to an exact formula: 140mm minus the height of the floor structure. Then, the lower section of the outlet system is connected to the drain pipe. Next, the tanking layer seals off the shower tray area before laying the tiles. The outlet system is also completely sealed, ensuring that the floor-level shower is fully protected against water damage. The plumber then aligns the pedestal and attaches the upper section of the outlet system to the shower tray before the tray itself is put in place.
