New 2nd Floor designs from Duravit

At this year's ISH, Duravit launched four new 2nd Floor designs that emphasize the evolution from classic bathroom furniture to an integrated, seamless floor plan. An attractive new vanity unit positioned at 90 degrees to the wall to informally divide the space is joined by the option of one or two ceiling-mounted suspended illuminated mirrors.

A capacious 1 metre wide cabinet with sliding mirrored door completes the new furniture line up. In addition, all new and existing items in the 2nd Floor range are now available in the fresh new option of high-gloss white finish.

By opening up the floor plan, 2nd Floor creates new possibilities in the bathroom. Now, the washing area does not necessarily have to be fitted against a wall. Positioned at 90° to the wall, the new 2nd Floor vanity unit with console opens up novel perspectives for room design and layout. The vanity unit measures 158 cm, has four drawers and can be combined with one or two consoles or built-in washbasins with an illuminated shelf at the back. The water and power outlets remain in the wall but cannot be seen because the wall connection is on the narrow side of the furniture, left or right as desired. The inlets and outlets can be fitted in the furniture at the factory if required.

A matching mirror system from Duravit is also available: one or two mirrors- to order - are mounted on a white ceiling panel and suspended from above, facilitating positioning directly above the extended vanity unit.

The mirrors are lit and can be adjusted after installation precisely to the user's taste: they can be mounted at any height between 2.30 and 3 m and can also be swivelled 45° to the left or right to provide desired lighting for the face. The touch LED switch, which is centred beneath the mirror, features a daylight sensor and dually acts as a nightlight.

Rounding off the range is a double-sized tall cabinet from Duravite measuring 1 m in width which features a sliding mirrored door and interior lighting. Additionally, the entire 2nd Floor series is now also available in a new high-gloss white finish. As such, the entire bathroom can be perfectly coordinated in a consistent colour scheme that embodies the ceramic, tub, and furniture. In its entirety, 2nd Floor offers the possibility of creating new perspectives and integrating the bathroom into the overall living space.
