Axor Urquiola

Axor Urquiola is the latest collection from Axor, the designer brand from Hansgrohe, created by celebrated Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola.

This is the first time that Axor offers a complete bathroom. The bathroom industry has become familiar with Axor proposing room concepts for its various collections, but for Axor Urquiola, the room concepts are supported by brassware, showers, accessories, bath, basins and even a heater that doubles as a room divider.

In Axor Urquiola, every individual product is already a piece of poetry. Every single object plays an individual, yet important role, and all have been scripted in the unique personal manner of the Spanish-born designer: she cleverly combines a formal language inspired by nature with clean edges, playful elements and precise workmanship. The flat handle of the single lever mixer, which combines shining surfaces with soft radii, embodies high quality and pays homage to the design style of the sixties and seventies. The square shape with the rounded corners means that the lever of the mixer can be operated intuitively, at the same time creating a pleasant feeling in the hand. As a characteristic design element in the collection it rises at an angle out of the base body, providing it with an unaccustomed, but pleasing asymmetry. With this attention to detail the designer shows in a playful lightness of touch.

The shapes of the archetypal wash basins and bathtubs are reminiscent of the washing tubs of a bygone age. The use of an innovative material - mineral cast with a polyester gel coat surface - makes it possible to create this unique shape in a single cast: both sides of the wash basins feature slot-like openings that, while reminiscent of the handles of old-style washing tubs, serve a practical function as receptacles for towels or facecloths.

A freestanding paravent - the Axor Urquiola radiator - is a modular system whose white modules, featuring cloud patterns or full-length mirrors elements, can be installed next to each other in any number, or they can be mounted on walls. A happy symbiosis of form and function, the Axor Urquiola radiator system allows for wholly individual designs of one's private retreat and well-being space.

The products of the Axor Urquiola bathroom collection interact as individual elements with each other and blend into a new, harmonious whole to support the spatial concept. Thanks to the design approach affected by the different styles they also fit into other, most different bathroom ambiences and requirements.
