Phone app. heralds technological step-change for interior designers

The stone industry’s first ever cross-platform mobile phone application goes live today, heralding a technological step-change for interior designers and architects. The technology is available on iPhone, iPad and android, with an HD-ready version for all iPhone 4 and iPad users which offers stone graphics in high definition.

Launched and developed by Lapicida, the UK’s world-class stone specialist, the revolutionary tool enables access to more than 200 hi-res swatch samples of luxury natural stone, marble flooring and kitchen and bathroom tiles.

As Lapicida founder, Jason Cherrington explains: "This application is, quite simply, a portable portfolio for the phone. If will effectively lighten the load for designers, cutting down on the number of books and samples they need to carry around."

The application is free to download and includes a roomset gallery, offering hundreds of options at the touch of a button as well as providing design inspiration.

Ranges available on Lapicida Design-in-Stone include granite, limestone, marble, onyx, sandstone, slate, travertine, reclaimed and semi-precious. Each swatch includes a full stone specification and there is also a tap-to-call number for pricing enquiries in addition to a direct link to the Lapicida website.
