Ideal Standard launches showroom of the year scheme

Ideal Standard has launched its first ever Showroom of the Year reward scheme for retailers. Under the new Showroom of the Year scheme, Ideal Standard will recognise those businesses that have gone the extra mile in ensuring Ideal Standard brands are the first choice in their business.

Ideal Standard has created detailed criteria to recognise and measure joint business growth that goes beyond sales value. Criteria include: displays, showroom knowledge, brand advertising, signage on building/vans and website awareness, in addition to sales.

Starting this month, retailers working with Ideal Standard will be scored by their local Retail Business Development Executive during the course of the year and can gain a maximum of 160 points. During the final quarter an expert panel consisting of Senior Directors and Managers will award up to 40 additional points to the frontrunners, looking at other aspects of their business approach especially where they have excelled at supporting Ideal Standard’s brands.

Ideal Standard’s National Sales Manager, Gary Matthews, said: “A huge part of our DNA is to ensure that our business and brands provide our showroom partners with many options to satisfy consumer needs now and in the future. However, we believe we are only just warming up in regard to focusing our efforts to support you and your showroom”.

There will be two national level awards: one will be ‘National Platinum Showroom of the Year’ and the other will be ‘National Gold Showroom of the Year’. Both will receive a significant Business Marketing grant. There will also be three regional winners who will each receive a Business Marketing grant.

The Showroom of the Year scheme will start to be measured from May 2010 and will close on April 30 2011. The winners will be announced in May 2011.

Ideal Standard’s showroom strategy ‘Retail Futures’ is designed to lay down the day to day best practice of working with its retail partners.

“During the past 12 months we at Ideal Standard have been developing and implementing a revised approach to how we continue to support the showroom market within the UK. We hope that with the launch of the Retail Futures strategy, we have set the tone for our intentions to support retailers more effectively”, Matthews continued.

In return, Ideal Standard has pledged to differentiate the support it provides to showrooms based on commitment levels to its brands; invest in new products with high consumer appeal; provide well thought through and designed literature; develop new showroom support tools in the form of fresh point of sale; implement structured business enhancing campaigns; and improved communications with retailers.
